Renovation of a Single-Level Andalusian Villa

Renovation of a Single-Level Andalusian Villa
This single-level villa sat on a plot of approximately 1,500 square meters. The main objective of the project was to modernize the house and make it more functional—without compromising its original Andalusian character and architectural essence.

To achieve this, we enlarged the windows and opened up some of the walls facing the garden to strengthen the indoor-outdoor connection. The landscaping was redesigned and enhanced, and the main terrace—extending out to the lawn—was expanded. The existing columns were wrapped in bougainvillea and climbing plants to create a vibrant, living texture.

At the heart of the house was a patio that had no specific use. We transformed it into a cozy sitting area by opening a new window onto the space, building a timber lattice pergola to filter the strong sunlight, and adding a central fireplace to make it a warm and inviting focal point.

We preserved the mature trees in the garden and maintained the traditional Andalusian terracotta roof tiles, intervening only where restoration was necessary. All bathrooms were fully renovated and upgraded to contemporary standards.

This project reflects a careful balance between honoring architectural heritage and elevating the space to meet the needs of modern living.
